WK$5$ Collaboration: Devotional

Please read the following scriptures.

Proverbs $6$:$6-11,$ Proverbs $12$:$24-27,$ John $1$:$14,$ Colossians $3$:$23-24$

Last workshop$$s devotion touched on the importance of working hard and avoiding laziness. This message is also relevant for this workshop because the content focuses on the primary and secondary functions $($customer relations, sales, marketing, product distribution, accounting and finance, human resources, information technology etc.$)$ that any business must perform to succeed. Diligence in all of these areas is paramount.

Christians can sometimes have a devalued view of these types of processes and jobs in these career sectors$,$ because, after all, they do not qualify as $$ministry$$ in the fullest sense. But even Christ was a carpenter, and the very fact that he came alongside and dwelt among us as a fully human being should tell us how highly God values our work efforts, regardless of the task and calling. The fact is$,$ each of us has been uniquely blessed with certain gifts$$things we are good at which may or may not lead us into full$-$time ministry. But even if we never set foot behind a pulpit to deliver a sermon, our work can and should be a sacred ministry to the Lord. So long as we do our work with diligence, integrity, and care for others, and ultimately, as a love offering to God, we will find true joy and success in our work.
