Scenario

Mary has lost her lamb. On Sunday, she placed an ad in the local paper offering $$2,000$ to anyone who could provide information leading to the return of her lamb.

Monday: Jack saw a lamb behind some barrels in the alley behind his village store as he was leaving for a $4-$day business trip. He scribbled a note with directions and promised his stock boy, Scott, $$50$ to deliver the message to Mary. Scott, shy but having a crush on Mary, forgot to deliver the note.

Tuesday: Jill saw the lamb behind the store and, while doing her errands, left a note under Mary's door since Mary was not home. However, Mary spent Tuesday night with her sister Mathilda and did not return until Wednesday morning. The lamb ate Jill's note when Mary found it outside the store.
