Work Order Cycle Stages & Impact Diagram - Assignment #1 - 10% (From Course Outline)

Students will complete a diagram that outlines the stages relating to the maintenance work order cycle, including the overall impact on guest service and satisfaction If you worked in the maintenance department of a hotel and had to process a work order, what would the process be? Think about what we discussed in class.

Prior to receiving the work order, someone (typically a supervisor/manager), from one of the hotel departments would put in a work order request (something is broken/not working) Your job is to then determine the steps necessary for completion of the work order - start to finish implementing the (Work Order Cycle)

Task 1: The scenario is that you would process the work order using paper, phone or in-person communication. Create a diagram (design can be of your choice) then input the correct information according to what we saw on the sample diagram, using both the process information and an actual example (ice machine broken, oven not working, etc.) Then, explain in page (typed) the impact processing a work order using paper, telephone, or in-person could/would have on guest service and satisfaction.

Task 2: The scenario is that you would process a work order using technology (phone app, computer software program, iPad, etc.) Create a diagram (design can be of your choice) then input the correct information according to what we saw on the sample diagram, using both the process information and an actual example (ice machine broken, oven not working, etc.) Then, explain in page (typed) the impact processing a work order using technology (phone app, computer software program, iPad, etc.) could/would have on guest service and satisfaction.
