Determine the braking torque applied by a block brake which acts on a braking drum of diameter $300$ mm $,$ with lever dimensions $OA=150mm,$ and $OC=375mm,$ when the brake shoe is hinged attached to lever OAC. The coefficient of friction is $0\mathrm{.}3$ and the effort $P=445N.$ Analyse for:

$($a$)$ clockwise rotation of the drum, and

$($b$)$ anti$-$clockwise rotation.
