Determine the braking torque applied by a block brake which acts on a braking drum of diameter 300 mm , with lever dimensions OA=150mm, and OC=375mm, when the brake shoe is hinged attached to lever OAC. The coefficient of friction is 0.3 and the effort P=445N. Analyse for:
(a) clockwise rotation of the drum, and
(b) anti-clockwise rotation.
