Question:
Working in your class teams, identify the country of origin of each team member. After each member provides some information about his or her country, select one country that you are all interested in learning more about. Collect information on that country's
(1)social practices,
(2)cultural mores,
(3)religious and other belief systems,
(4)politics, and
(5)business and professional practices.
The research is to be done in class, so ensure that at least one team member has his or her laptop. Once the information has been identified and classified under the five topics, discuss how best to present the material to the whole class during the following session. The presentation should be an informational one designed to help employees who are about to go on a two-year international posting. The employees need to know how to behave—and how not to behave—in the country.
At the next session, two teams will present for seven to ten minutes and will be expected to answer questions. This process will continue during the term until all teams have presented.
The order of the presentations will be random and the instructor will ensure at the first session that each team is researching a different country.
