Working with an interdisciplinary team, you will think like a consultant to solve a strategy problem(s) for the client that account for the concepts/theory discussed in the course. You will be assigned a team with members who represent a cross-section of the business majors. By course end, the team will produce one final written report that makes clear recommendations depending on the Clients scope of work.

The Scope of Work SOW must be based on your clients goals. That is, all tasks you identify in the SOW must have a link to the clients goals you are trying to help your client achieve. In each task you will define the task goal, outline the specific work to be performed, identify if whether there is or not a product or deliverable to be sent to your client, and the task schedule (e.g., Due dates for task & deliverable(s)).

  • Demonstrate to the client that you understand their business/organization, the goals the client is trying to achieve, & business consulting services requested of the student team,
  • Outline the approach the team proposes to take including a list of the teams own project goals (if they are a subset of clients goals because the team cannot accomplish all the client goals in one term; essentially too much work in too short a time period).
  • Identify the data or information the team needs to collect & compare to discern differences between the alternatives. The data/information needs & methods used to obtain the data/information must be tied directly to the client goals. Otherwise, you will not be able to discern how alternatives differ.
  • Identify the methods (e.g., financial, research, quantitative, qualitative, etc.) the team will take to obtain the data & information.
  • Finally, briefly outline the major work steps or work phases the team will take. Does not have to be detailed, just a bulleted list.
