One of the most important things about the Web is make it accessible for everyone, including the disabled. Disability comes in many forms. This section points out various types of disability as far as the web is concern. In $1973,$ congress passed the, Rehabilitation Act, and it was amended in $1998$ to include the new media at the time, Internet. It is known as Section $508.$ Any web site at the federal level must be Section $508$ compliant. It is not required for the private sector, however more and more organizations are creating web sites with accessibility in mind.
