The Affordable Care Act was introduced during President Obama's presidency and was commonly known as "Obama Care" to US citizens, providing them with affordable insurance plans that people living in poverty can afford. It was required that every American have health insurance, whether it be from a private company or through the government's insurance. I also recall learning that insurance company's were no longer allowed to deny coverage for children with pre-existing conditions.

Any time a new law or plan is brought upon us, there is some aspect of project management at play, whether it be organizing the new ways the government will market this to Americans or even a plan to get Americans on board and willing to be a part of this program who need it. Like any project, there were risks involved. What if there isn't enough money to promise everyone affordable healthcare? What if we have trouble implementing our goals and fail? There were numerous risks and expectations to be met when introducing this new plan to the country. Key risks involved in this project included, "the insufficient time for testing and major concern sharing the lack of a shared definition of success" (Grushka-Cockayne). Pleasing everyone can be difficult, as everyone has different ideas of what is considered a successful project and what is not. It's understandable that the lack of testing was a major risk involved in this project, as the people behind this project were hoping for the best without a decent amount of testing prior to releasing the plan. Overall, there are projects everywhere we look. Having a successful project certainly relies on the project management team and the planning that goes into it before it is released
