This is to follow after a title page and the previously written: introduction, literature review, and proposed study section. In the proposed method section, students should clearly cover the following: 1) the target population, sampling design/plan, and anticipated number of cases, 2) the unit of analysis to test your hypotheses, 3) the method of data collection and why you have chosen that method, 4) a specific description of your research design, 5) conceptual and operational definitions for each key independent, dependent, and control variables you will need to measure your hypotheses, 6), the reliability and validity of the measures you have chosen (if using standardized scales or instruments), and 7) coding definitions and examples if proposing a project with systematic coding (similarly an interviewing protocol or script if proposing any form of interviewing).
