Introduction A lot of people use teller machines to make transactions instead of visiting bank branches. In contrary to bank branches, ATM are widely spread and easy to find in places like supermarkets. A teller machine provides customers with access to financial transactions without the interference of human clerks or bank tellers. Modern teller machines identify the customer by reading a card with a magnetic strip or a plastic smartcard with a small chip. To achieve security, customers are asked to enter their personal identification numbers (PIN). Our topic is a database system for managing bank and ATMs. We took this topic because it has a lot of entities, attributes, and relationships between these entities. Our company provides a credit card that can be used in ATM and in our bank branches. This card will make it easier for customers to make transactions and withdraw money. Our system will store information about the customers' cards, transactions, and the bank branches. The customers will have an account and will use a card to help them access their accounts. The customer will insert the card in the ATM and makes transactions or withdraw money. All transactions' history will be stored in our system, so users can have reports of previous actions. Through our system, customers can access their bank accounts through the teller machine. They can order to withdraw cash and check their account balances. Moreover, customers can make money transactions from one account into another. Furthermore, our company has many branches across the United Arab Emirates, and in each branch, there will be ATM and an ATM technician who will maintain it. Moreover, the ATM can be inserted in supermarkets and other places. In conclusion, our company tries to provide easy-to-access bank services and the best experience for performing transactions or withdrawal. 2. Project goals Through this project, we aim to make a full database system that can be implemented and used in real-life situations for an ATM and bank system. All necessary attributes, entities, and relationships will be included. The customer will need to have an account in our bank then he can obtain a card. The card will hold information like the PIN, account number, name of customer, phone number, and card expire date. The customer can use this card in all ATM that supports our services and belongs to our bank. The card can be used to transfer money or withdraw money. By working on this project, we want to learn how to design and use database systems, like SQL and Oracle. We will implement what we studied in lectures regarding entities, attributes, relationships, ERD diagrams, and the actual database. We aim to make our system realistic, professional, and easy-to-use so it can be used in real life. Type your application domain here If the customer's card is lost, then he needs to pay a fee to get another one. If the card expires, then the customer must renew it and pay renewing fees. Bank employees and ATM technicians may get a bonus which is 5% to the salary Customer will be responsible for what happens for a stolen card if he did not report the missing card as soon as possible. 3.3.
