write a short response to this discussion I feel that Officer Turek was trying to follow the three necessary steps that include discretion, the duty to enforce the law, and the duty to uphold the constitutional protections. For his discretion, the office power and authority by deciding to pull over Atwater and wanted to express his concern for the passengers that were up in the front without a seatbelt. I do believe he made the right choice by the officer conducting a traffic stop for a vehicle that had passengers not wearing their seatbelt. The officer could've possibly saved everybody's life in that vehicle if they were possibly here or involved in a car accident. This should be taken very seriously, especially when it's children that young that we should be thinking about. For the duty to enforce the law he started yelling at Atwater because he was showing his concern for the children in the front passenger seat by yelling at her about not caring for the welfare of her children.
