However, the three main steps when determining if this decision was ethical or taken too far are if there was discretion, duty to enforce the law, and duty to uphold constitutional protections. Due to how the situation was handled with Officer Turek and Gail Atwater, I believe the steps taken were not necessary and were taken too far.
