Hint for alternating negative and positive.

$-1^1=-1$

$-1^2=1$

$-1^3=-1$

$-1^4=1$

Consider using the loop parameter $($i or $j,$ or $k,$ etc.$)$ rather than the numbers $1,2,3,4$ shown to change the power $($since the loop parameter will take the values $1,2,3,4,$dots on subsequent iterations$).$
