You are a newly promoted manager who has taken over the leadership of a company department. The previous manager of this department was known to have acted in a directive, command and control manner.

Shortly after assuming responsibility for the department you begin to observe that many of the employees are passive, dependent and reluctant subordinates who only do the minimum required and no more.

Based on the most applicable Behavioural Management theory, explain in detail:

a.) why you think your employees may be acting this way (5) and,
