By converting an organization's strategy and vision to a consistent framework of performance measurement, the BSC aligns business processes to strategic objectives. This is achieved through four major perspectives: the financial, the customer, the internal business process, and the learning and growth perspectives (Kaplan & Norton, 1992). To begin with, the financial perspective makes it easy to understand how firms create shareholder value and manage resources. Second, the customer perspective concentrates on knowledge of, and responsiveness to, customer requirements to maximize customer satisfaction and retention. Third, the perspective on internal business processes ensures organizations maximize operations to the best of their capabilities and with maximum efficiency. Lastly, the perspective on learning and growth focuses on the development of innovation, increasing the skills of employees, and ongoing improvement. These interconnecting components enable executives to convey information soundly to all levels of the organization
