Write  paragraphs on the following characters in relation to the plot of the play:

1. Othello:- He is the hero of the play, and is a successful not  only in the different wars he has fought, but also has won the love and hand of fair Desdemona. He has shared a lot of his war stories with Desdemona, who falls in love with him, despite of their racial differences.( ethnicity / color of the skin).Unfortunately Othello being the hero of a Shakespearean tragedy, has a tragic flaw. This tragic flaw is based on the Greek concept of tragedy, which is the fall of the hero. This is also known as the Achilles Heel, according to the Greek Mythology.

3. Iago:- He is the villain of this play, who hates, and is jealous of Othello, not only because of his being an able officer, and a successful military commander, but also at winning Desdemona's love. He therefore plans to bring Othello down, at all costs, and plays a role of  typical evil villain  of Shakespearean tragedies. His name is ( Iago)

5. Desdemona:- She is a Sweet, young  daughter of a nobleman, who falls in love with Othello, despite their difference in their  ethnicities. She is a loyal wife, and remains in  love with Othello till the very end. She chooses not to confront Othello, due to her deep conviction of loyalty and ideals of a dutiful wife, which  she upholds as a person.
