Create a unique function (append.new list) that appends a new list to the end of a list of lists. This function takes two parameters (lists, top) where lists is a reference to the list of lists and top specifies how many numbers will compose the list that will be appended. you can create empty lists (list =[]) and that you can append values to it via the list methods implemented by Python. Remember that in Python it is possible to copy the reference to a list (list_1=list_0), meaning that both list_0 and list_1 "point" to the same list of numbers. Experiment what happens when you pass only the name of the list of lists (lists) to append new list, and what happens if you pass a complete copy (lists.copy()).
