Writing Assignment: Lodestar

Research Assignment

Research the "lodestar method." You may use Westlaw, LexisNexis, other Library databases, and/or the internet. You must cite at least one case for one of your authorities/work cited. Do three to five page paper on the lodestar method. Your paper should include the following:

1. An explanation of the lodestar method
2. How the lodestar method is utilized in the legal profession
3. When the lodestar method is utilized in the legal profession
4. A Work Cited section
5. A Lodestar (see below for more information and a template)

Lodestar

Your paper must also include a lodestar. A sample lodestar is attached. You may use MS Excel or another file such as comma separated values file or a Google spreadsheet to produce your lodestar. You must use the information below to calculate the lodestar (i.e., the names and rates).
