This week, you will share your topic selection for your persuasive speech. As a reminder, here are the topic choices.

You have a risky idea to improve the profitability of your workplace with a new product, service, or process. If it works, your company will benefit greatly, but there is also risk involved if it fails. Convince your organization's executive committee to approve your plan. Be sure to acknowledge the risks that those who doubt your plan might point out, and provide a rebuttal.

You stay current with the news and notice there is a complex issue or problem that it seems like everyone is debating. People have a wide variety of strongly held views on this topic. Take a side and convince your audience why your point of view makes the most sense while also acknowledging the opposing view.

Wrou work $($or volunteer$)$ for a charitable organization you are passionate about. Persuade your audience either to give money or volunteer their time to the charity. You understand that many people find it challenging to give money or time to a worthy cause, and that some people are opposed to charity on the grounds that it promotes dependency. Address those concerns.

You believe there is a law currently on the books that is unfair or unjust in some way and should be repealed or amended, or you believe there should be a new law enacted to help deal with an important social problem. Persuade your audience to either repeal, amend, or enact that law. Consider why some people might be opposed your.proposal, and rebut those counterarguments.

You are running for elected office in your community. Persuade your constituents to vote for you. Some may doubt your qualifications or disagree with your stances on issues. Acknowledge those doubts and disagreements and rebut them.
