Question:
1.) Emergency Braking System (EBS)
The EBS is an automotive safety system that comes into operation, braking the vehicle, when
ADAS sensors detect a collision and the pilot does not correct his speed, that is, the pilot is
distracted.
The EBS control action is divided into three different categories: Light Braking (FL), Soft Braking (FL),
Sustained (FS), Hard Braking (FB).
The intensity of the braking effort depends on the activation of two alarms (A1, A2)
presented by the ADAS system, as follows:
A1=FL;
A2=FL and FS;
A1 and A2=FL and FS and FB.
Determine the Boolean equations, simplified by K-maps, of the outputs FL, FS, FB
considering that the EBS is activated only when a collision has been detected and the pilot does not correct
the speed of it. On the contrary, if no collision has been detected, it is impossible to give information about
alarms A1 or A2. Use don't care conditions when possible.
