You are required to write a brief report on the following. Your report should be between 3 to 5 pages long. To be submitted on Monday, September 13, 2021. Systems Evaluation The possession and deployment of appropriate and efficient systems and their components, in most cases, determine the success or failure of an organization. However, even the best of systems are never flawless. Required: Critically evaluate an accounting-related system or its component(s) in your organization (or any other organization that you are familiar with) and provide suggestions and recommendations for its improvement.

 Hints: 

a. You may choose to write on any accounting-related system, process or procedure that you are familiar with. You may also write on a component part(s) of a system, process or procedure. Examples include, but are not limited to your accounting information system, fixed asset management process, working capital management process, account receivable or payables management, planning and control system, budgeting and budgetary control procedures, performance management system, etc. 

b. Discuss your selected system, process or procedure with me prior to the commencement of your assignment. 

c. You should have or obtain and demonstrate thorough knowledge of the system you are writing on, including where possible, the background and justification for its adoption, implementation and use, coverage and scope of usage, technical perspectives, benefits and challenges, behavioural implications of its use, etc. Where possible, practical evidence of the key theoretical principles that we have discussed/will discuss in this course should be provided.

 d. Be constructively critical. Assume that your suggestions and recommendation for improvement will be of immense value to management. Marks will be awarded for your own personal opinions and, in particular, recommendations. It is important that you provide some academic support for your critical evaluation and recommendation, as marks will be awarded for this.
