You are tasked to design and select the lightest W-section (W8-W14 only) for the main members of the buildings which includes (the number represents the coding on the diagram provided): ➤ Beam (5) ➤ Corner Post (6) > Floor Beam (8) ➤ Column (9) > Base plate for the column (20 marks each) Provide a plan schematic drawing to indicated the selected sections for each element. (25 marks) STANDARD CONFIGURATION Four span bay, each 12-ft wide Building length (front to back) 20-ft ▸ Roof should support roof live of 5 psf ▸ Roof material has a overhang of 1'-6" and the material is 50mm EPS sandwich panel with a desity of 17.5 kg/m³ ➤ The plywood flooring will be replace with 3 inch concrete (density of concrete - 150 lb/ft³). Floor live should be based on the approved occupancy (USE 2018 IBC to select the heaviest) > Base plate will be bolted to concrete base.
