You can always go too far with getting into the minutia but I would error on the side of taking it too far.Project Managers need to be able to report on the completion of milestones and tasks but still be able to report on the overall completion of the entire project.At times Project Managers will bundle the group of tasks into a single Microsoft Project entry as long as the task is performed by the same person, has the same predecessor order and is well understood by the PM.If you were the PM, would you rather have the tasks spelled out entirely or would you rather have them set at a higher consolidated level?
