You have been asked to create a relational database to hold information relating to a large personal movie DVD collection. In your consultation with the owner of the collection, it was determined that, at a minimum, the entities in the database should include: - Actor - Film Title - Film Genre (i.e. Comedy, Action, Historical Drama, Animation, etc.) - Actor Role (i.e. Scarlett OHara, Rhett Butler, Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Shrek, Elsa, etc.) - Producer - Film Rating (i.e. G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17. See http://www.filmratings.com/how.html )

The entities are related as follows: - An actor can be involved in different roles in many different films. - A film can have many actors. - A film genre can include many different films. - Many films can have the same film rating. - A film can have many producers. - A producer can produce many films.

Some queries that should be answered from the database include: - What actors appeared in a particular film in what roles? - Do you have any PG rated films in your database? -Who were the producers of a particular film? Make reasonable assumptions necessary for any business rules not stated here. What are the relationships between your entities? What other entities are required, if any?

1. (8 marks) Create an Entity-Relationship diagram (ER Diagram) showing the entities, their relationships and some suggested attributes associated with each entity. Identify all primary and foreign keys. NOTE: Three suggested ways you can create the diagram are: a) Draw by hand, scan or take a photo, and copy/paste it into a Word document b) Use drawing tools in Word c) Use drawing tools in PowerPoint and then copy and paste the slide into your Word document

2. (2 marks) Create tables for each entity in your database. (Columns are attributes and records are rows.) Pick three films and show appropriate data entries for each of these films in the tables. Include major actors and roles only. Each table should have at least three records. Your tables should be in third normal form.
