You have been provided with various techniques to formulate your own research topic. In this assignment you are required to write 2 to 3 pages document to indicate your research problem. This should indicate a topic and background to the problem you are intending to investigate. Identify a suitable topic In order to be acceptable your topic sbould comply with the following requirements: 1.be within the field of business and manavement. Tbe source of your topic should fall within any field of study you have undertaken within BMD programs 2. Be an original nature, e.g. Clarifying an issue or contributing to a better understanding thereof and/or breaking new ground in the particular field. Accordingly, it should not merely cover a conventioanl topic that is dealt with in a textbook, 3. Ideally pertain to a topic that rouses your interest, 4. The tittle must be brief between 12 to 15 words, 5. It must reflect the nature of the research, the research problem and should include the key words. 5. It should not be in the form of a question. BACKGROUND AND PROBLEM STATEMENT 1. Describe the background to and context of the study. This could be done by means of a limited literature review (select at least five literature source) in order to describe the nature of the problem or by way of a clear description of the practical, work related problem giving rise to the research together with references to literature. This section usually starts with a broad description of the background, narrowing down to the research problem, therefore from the general to the specific. It must be clear from this section where the present research fits into tbe broad body of knowledge. You will note also that the research problem and the goals of the research (next section) must be closely aligned. You should structure your work as follows: 1. First page sholud be a tittle page, with your name and student number 2. Second page should be : Background and Problem statement 3. Background and problem statement statement section should take between 2 and 3 pages.
