The connecting pipe will be 575 feet long with a 12" diameter and made of galvanized iron. There are to be two 90° elbows, each with an r/d of 6, located 100 and 225 feet downstream of the secondary reservoir, and one gate valve, normally wide open, 75 feet upstream of the primary reservoir. Water temperature averages 65° F. Your task includes the following: a) Determine the discharge that will occur between the two reservoirs. b) Draw both the HGL and the EGL for the system.
