You have interviewed with multiple people for a job in sales at ABC Acoustics. Though it is customary to send a follow-up letter to all with whom you interviewed, for the purpose of this discussion, in your initial post send one follow-up letter to the main person with whom you interviewed.

In your first response, write a letter to inform the applicant (your peer student) that he or she is being offered the position. This should include typical traits of a positive message, including a direct approach.

In your second response to a peer student, inform he or she that she will *not* be offered the position. Remember to use buffers and choose from direct and indirect strategies, keeping in mind the need to continue to create good will.
