You have two tasks

$1.$ Analyze the industry by using Porter$$s five forces analysis.

Moodle has a Financial Times article $$Age of mega suppliers heralds dangers for carmakers$.$ Use that article for your analysis. That article discusses at least three of Porter$$s five forces. Use your general knowledge to analyze the remaining forces. How attractive is the industry? What is the main cause for that? $2.$ Identify three trends that could influence the car manufacturing industry in the near future.

It is important that you look outside of the industry, that you look for bigger trends. In other words, do not limit what car manufacturers themselves are doing, but look what is happening in society around them.

Consider different perspectives and identify:

$-$ Political issues $($such as new domestic or international laws, taxes, environmental or trade regulations, $....)$

$-$ Economic issues $($both for manufacturers, customers, suppliers, complements $....)$

$-$ Sociological issues $($such as demographics, consumer preferences, $...)$

$-$ Technological issues $($such as new technologies $...)$

For each of the issues:

$-$ Give the issue a short headline

$-$ Describe the issue shortly

$-$ Describe how it could potentially impact the car manufacturing industry

You can use bullet points, pictures and figures $($in addition to raw text$)$ in your answers. Be explicit using concepts and frameworks from the course $($course book and lectures$).$ Keep your answers short and to the point and do not exceed two pages.
