You must choose an organization for which you will develop an e-learning activity, part of which will be carried out in asynchronous mode. Several options are available to you. You may choose :
Develop a course for your own organization (or for an organization where you have already worked). It can be an existing training course that is currently being delivered in the classroom. It can also be new training content.
Target an organization and meet a few times with those responsible for training to make an e-training activity for that organization.
Choose wisely the topic that can be adapted (or developed) in whole or in part into an e-training activity since you will be working on it throughout the session. Of course, sections of your work can be clarified, modified and improved during the session. These enrichments will have to be added to your session project.
Part 1: Analysis
At a minimum, your work should include the elements below:
The organization
General presentation of the organization :
Mission of the organization, strategic orientations, products or services, etc..;
Number of offices and their geographical location;
Number of employees and their function (main functions).
Context of the organization's formation :
Describe, if applicable, the organization's training department and the role of the person(s) responsible for training in the organization;
Training supply in the organization (types of training, internal trainers or external providers, etc.);
Modes of delivery of training in the organization (classroom, online, synchronous, asynchronous);
Constraints of current training methods.
Technological environment of the organization
Key characteristics of the technological environment of the organization, trainers, learners and, where applicable, clients and partners;
Main technological issues that you will need to take into account in the development and delivery of your e-learning.
Relevance of e-learning to the organization :
Why should this organization conduct e-learning?
Advantages and disadvantages for your organization, for learners, and for clients and partners (if applicable) in using e-learning.
It is recommended that the advantages and disadvantages be classified into categories, i.e., those that concern the organization, those that concern learners, and those that concern clients or partners (if applicable). Identifying the advantages and disadvantages for the organization and clients will be more useful to you in selling your project, while those concerning your learners will influence your choices when designing the pedagogical design of your activities, during implementation and in your change management strategies.
The implementation of your e-learning activity
Description of the e-training project that will be developed during the session:
Identify the subject of the training you wish to develop online;
Specify the preferred approach (pure, hybrid, synchronous, asynchronous, etc.). Justify your choices by drawing inspiration from the elements to be considered in the choice of appropriate training methods (e.g. Practical Guide to Virtual Learning in the Workplace, page 24).
Characteristics of the target clientele. Take inspiration from the following documents, among others:
