You should solve all assigned problems in Excel. Submit one Excel workbook containing all of your work. Each problem should be answered on a separate, labeled worksheet (tab) within the Excel workbook that you submit. An Excel workbook with the required worksheets (tabs) is provided with this assignment on Canvas, so you can use that as a template.

Bacteria grow by dividing in two. So, one cell produces two, two cells produce four, and so on. This is an example of exponential growth. A common doubling time for bacteria is one hour. Create an Excel worksheet to determine how many hours it takes to for one bacterium to form 10¹⁰ bacteria.

An example is shown in the Problem 3 worksheet of the Excel template so that you can check to make sure that your calculations are correct. You can determine the answer to the question by inspection; meaning that you can determine where 10¹⁰ bacteria are produced by looking through the data. However, it is possible for Excel determine this for you.
