For this role play, the social worker will orient the client to Acceptance and Commitment therapy. Think about informed consent here, and act as if you are an ACT therapist and you want to give the client an idea of what to expect in your time together. You might want to explain to the client some of the key concepts in ACT, such as acceptance and mindfulness.

As the social worker, please also attend to good clinical skills such as appropriate use of open- and closed-ended questions, answering client questions, seeking clarification when needed, etc.
