You will be required to develop an idea for a new business or social venture and pitch it to the class. You will each write a script to an elevator pitch designed to be read in approx. 60 sec.

For this assignment, focus on introducing the problem and why you are would like to work on it. Make sure to include an initial description of the problem that you are looking to solve and why it should be solved. Provide a rough idea of how you propose to solve it. Also, think about what you need from the audience (your fellow students) to move your idea one step closer to being a reality.

Your pitch should follow the framework outlined below:

Introduce the problem (small story or hook that will grab the audiences attention in relation to the problem)

Evidence to the problem (statistics or knowledge that shows the problem is a "real" problem)

Potential Solution (what solution do you think could solve this problem?)

Why are you the person to do it? (What expertise do you bring to the table?)

What do you need to get the project started? (Ask) (What kind of people and expertise can help you grow this idea?)
