First, you will simulate a crime scene at a location you are familiar with and to which you are authorized access. The scene may be simple or complex. It could be a location such as your home, place of employment, a public park, or rural area.

Next, once your scene is established, capture the overall scene using digital photographs. Three electronic images are requiredone photograph for each of the three security levels of your scene. You may edit or mark-up the photo to indicate perimeters, or you may stage the scene in the photograph. Each photograph should have a clear caption indicating the security level. (Note: your images will be evaluated on your demonstration of the security levels, not the scene itself.)

Finally, in a paper, you must include the following components listed below.

• Starting with an introduction, briefly summarize your crime scene.
• Justify how and why you set up your levels of security as you did. Include a summary of the purpose of each level of your security perimeters specific to your scene (i.e., what are they keeping out (or in)traffic, weather, neighbors, wildlife?).
• Conclude your paper with a brief explanation of why crime scene management is vital to the investigation of your crime scene.
