Files Download the following packet tracer file: Week 8 Project Start File.pkt If you wish to print instructions: 8.2 Project: Home Automation Introduction "Alexa set the temperature to 72." "Hey Google, lock the front door." Ten years ago, such commands would have been the sign of a delusional mind. Today, nobody questions your sanity, and you expect the temperature to change, and the front door will lock. Home Automation is now seasoned technology. There are sensors and actuators to do everything from letting the dog out into the backyard to monitoring the carbon dioxide levels and opening a window if the house gets "stuffy." Most of this technology is designed to integrate with your wireless network and allow control from anywhere with internet access. This week's project will challenge you to create a home automation infrastructure, add automation devices, and set and test rules for activation and control of your devices. This project uses a starting template for Packet Tracer (Week 8 Project.pkt). You will have a background of a house, an internet cloud, and a cable modem. You will be given a step-by-step tutorial to add a home gateway, sensors, and configure simple rules to test the automation. It will be up to you to add an additional sensor and test parameters for the added sensor. The graphic below shows what your solution should look like at the conclusion of the tutorial.
