You will need to perform and interpret regression analysis for your final paper. You can
download your data from one of the links listed below or you can look at other sources (including
data from your job, if you have one). The dataset can be on
anything
that interests you; it doesn't
need to be business related: you can do analysis of music, sports, shoes (sorry, I couldn't resist
including this one) or anything else that you want to research. If you find an interesting dataset
that is not in Excel (friendly) format, don't get discouraged: just email the dataset to me and I will
help you putting it in a format appropriate for your analysis. In any case, you will need to email
the dataset to me for approval before you start with the analysis.
To do regression analysis, you will need to have one dependent (response) variable and at
least three independent (explanatory) variables. Your dependent variable should be quantitative;
the independent variables can be a mixture of quantitative and categorical variables. The dataset
should have at least 50 observations. But don't limit your dataset to just four variables and to just
50 observations just because I required so; e.g., if you use countries, use all countries for which
the data exist and not just 50 countries. Make sure you understand the meaning of the variables
that you use in your analysis.
