You work at a medium-sized software company called Ruby Software. Ruby Software recently released a new version of its insurance software, Insurance Solutions. Everyone in the company worked really hard on this latest software release, and your company president, Rebecca Ruby, wants to reward the employees with a company-wide party to celebrate. She has assigned you the task of researching some options for the celebration. Shes hoping for something fun and maybe a little different. She wants employees to relax, socialize, and enjoy themselves. Rebecca wants you to present her with a report that reviews the cost, advantages, and disadvantages of two options. You do some research and take some notes.
Notes from your research:
Below is a copy of your rough notes. You realize they are not organized very well. They likely contain some errors, and the tone is also very casual. You know you will take the time to organize and revise your notes when you write your report.

One option is a boat cruise. It costs $3500 for the cruise, soft drinks, and snacks. People could easily move around to socialize. It would be nice to spend time outside after working inside for so long. But what if the weather is bad? Everyone will have to stay below deck. The cruise lasts 3.5 hours. The views would be nice. People cant come and go as they please. If people have other commitments, like picking up children from child-care, they wont be able to leave early.

Another option is renting a restaurant. We can the rent the Tomatina Restaurant. Its mostly indoors but the restaurant has a small patio for an outdoor space. Cost is $2500 for soft drinks and a simple meal. Cost is $3000 if we add in the dessert bar [which is awesome!]. People will likely sit in one spot most of the time, but maybe we could have a social hour before everyone sits to eat
Yet another optionvideo game arcade with video games from the 1980s. This would be a fun option. You know everyone you work with likes video games. People would move around, but I wonder how much they would talk? It might be loud with the noise from the games and I know they play loud music in the arcade. The cost is $1500 for 2.5 hours of free games. Pizza and soft drinks added in would cost $2000. Could be a fun option but its more screen time after months and months in front of screens!
Now that you have collected your evidence and conducted your research, its time to write the short report. It will cost some money, but you know the employees deserve a reward for all their hard work.
