Your 2nd reading response (RR #2) includes all material (textbook, videos, websites, articles) covered since reading response # 1. This 2nd written reading response should concentrate on common themes (the skill of synthesis) that stand out for you as you watched or read through all the assigned materials. I should see evidence that you are following the assigned reading and films. This includes Chapters 8, 9, 10 in Claudio Golds book and the concept of expanded ACEs and the film. As you write your reading response reflection, please answer the following 4 questions to frame your response. Don't copy the question and then answer it, rather make your narrative flow and use transitional sentences from paragraph to paragraph. 1. What has been new learning for you across the readings? Relate these points to your own experiences or personal reflections. The voice and tone should be yours not a "cut and paste" of the material from the book or ChatGPT. 2. Write at least two paragraphs of content related to each of the following chapters (8, 9, 10). As previously mentioned, you can certainly include information and citations from other chapters, but I'm really looking for evidence that you read, understand, and can reflect and apply concepts from chapters 8-10 in this RR # 2. 3. What has been new learning for you from the film? 4. What has been new learning for you from the article on expanded ACEs? 5. What gives you hope and inspiration as you read and watched the film? Written requirements for reading response papers: 1. APA formatting: includes title page, page numbers, in-text citations, and a reference page. See acceptable font and font sizes per APA 7th edition. Your title and reference page do not count in the length specifications. 2. APA formatting: You do not need an abstract or a running header. Double spaced. One-inch margins. 3. You should have at least 5 in-text (in the body of your paper citations) covering material from our book and/or the film resources. One citation from each chapter, one from the film, one from the Expanded ACEs article. You can have more but 5 is the minimum. 4. Length: No less than 4 full pgs. You may go over in length but try to not go beyond 5 pages. Your title and reference page do not count in the length specifications. 5. Be intentional. Be concise in your thinking and writing. Use a clear, individualized voice. Learn to paraphrase over simply inserting a string of direct quotes. 6. No block quotes. 7. Please proof read prior to submission. 8. Remember to name your file appropriately. Re-look at the syllabus if you may have forgotten.
