2. A Vancouver, British Columbia volunteer group helps men get the clothes they need for job interviews. Its helping hundreds of people who couldnt otherwise afford proper clothing. Working Gears operations manager, Sarah Beley, has been recognized by the City of Vancouver for work that has helped thousands of people and prevented tonnes of clothing from entering landfills. The group was started 12 years ago as a response to Dress for Success, which provides a similar service for low-income women. Working Gear offers office attire and the gear necessary to work the trades, such as steel-toe boots and eye protection. Beley says having proper clothing is everything. It could be the last barrier that a lot of people face when theyre trying to rebuild their life.
