Your friend has been operating a small chocolate chip cookie making bakeshop out of their home in a rural location in Ontario. It is so successful (they even have international sales) that he has decided he needs to expand. With that expansion he has hired an additional 5 employees and plans to hire 25 more in the next 6 weeks. He knows how to make cookies but has no idea on how to deal with another aspect of business – human resources. However, he knows that you are taking a course in Human Resources and so have lots of new-found knowledge to share with him. He comes to you for advice in the following areas so that he doesn’t make any unintentional mistakes.
