Your group will be required to identify a senior level position (President/CEO/Director/GM) in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry outside the Bryan/College Station area and interview them. The individual must be in the industry for at least 10 years. They cant be a family member. Please e-mail me if you need clarification.
Prior to your interview, the group needs to research a company. They need to understand the background and history of the company. One area on most websites is termed About. What is their mission and vision and purpose? This will show the CEO that you have done some research.
Your interview should last approximately one hour and should be conducted using prepared questions focusing on the leaders background, leadership and management style, challenges, successes, tips for success, etc. and may include a tour of their facility and/or program area. Upon completion of the interview, the group will write a personal thank you letter and send via USPS.
Once completed, your group will prepare a presentation (8-10 minutes) covering your interview including the leaders background, leadership and management style, challenges, successes, tips for success, a summary of the interview and lessons learned. These lessons learned may include areas the leader was very successful in, a description of their leadership style, policy implications, best practices, etc. Your group will present your findings to the class. Presentations should be delivered creatively. Everyone in the group must be professionally dressed and present in the presentation. If a group member is not in class when the presentation is given (due to an un-excused absence), there will be an automatic 30-point deduction for that group member only.

Research Paper
The content of the paper should contain all the content that you have in your presentation and written in paragraph form. It must be in a typed APA format utilizing 12-size font and double-spacing on 8(1)/(2) x 11-inch paper.
