Your job for this assignment is to help make the process of active reading - and its benefits - clear for students at Saint Leo University. You will design a document (brochure, flyer, poster, infographic, or bookmark) for other students at the institution to help them understand and implement the active reading strategies. The document should be appropriate for other SLU students you know - on campus students should consider a document appropriate for placement in the CAVE; online students might design a PDF that could be added to LionSHARE or the Library's website. The teaching aid should be helpful and approachable to the students whom you wish to reach. Note: Because this assignment is not a traditional written assignment, expect to spend more time than usual on planning, strategy, and layout/design. Your task is to design a multimodal document teaching your fellow classmates about active reading, its techniques, and its benefits. 1. List the active reading strategies identified in the texts you read for this module. Decide which ones will be included in the document you design to teach fellow SLU students about active reading. 2. Decide the look, design, and platform (brochure, bookmark, flyer, poster, infographic) for your teaching aid. - Is there a template available that can save you the trouble of designing the layout of the page? (Hint: Microsoft Word, for example, comes with many creative templates to get you started.) - What color scheme, font make sense for what you are trying to do? - How can you share things you make in that app?
