Question:
Your job is to locate Parabolas, Circles, Ellipses, and Hyperbolas in the real world around you. Once you’ve located them you need to take a picture and document their location. These conics can be man-made or something seen in nature but you can’tmake them yourselves in order to get the desired shape. Look aroundthey are out there. Taking pictures off of the internet will resultin a zero on this discussion. You must post two images hererepresenting two different conics on this site. Tell what coniceach represents.
Choose carefully, as I want you to choose one of these items, and take some measurements, such as radii, or axis, and derive thestandard form for one of these items. You may need to impose orimagine a coordinate system over it to do this. If you want toimpose such a system over your image to do that, be sure topost that also. You will post the resulting equation for yourchosen picture in the next question, part 2.
Post here the picture you had chosen from the unit 4, part 1discussion, along with the measurements, and the equation youderived for it.
Look at other postings; if someone posted a different conicfigure from yours (i.e. you did a parabola, but they did anellipse) for this question, give them a like!
