Your responses should be well thought out and demonstrate a strong comprehension of course material.You are to refer to outside sources in the development of your responses and citations, in appropriate format, are absolutely required. Put things in your own words and cite sources just to be safe. These should be formally written, proofread responses using appropriate grammar. All parts of the questions must be addressed. Answers that are only a few sentences are entirely insufficient and will not get full credit. Based on the questions I provide; your answers should end up being more than a paragraph.

Choose one forensic discipline you are most interested in that we have discussed thus far in class (crime scene, fingerprints, firearms, DNA analysis, death analysis). Use lectures, scientific articles, RELIABLE websites, and notes to formulate your responses. INCLUDE CITATIONS.

Pretend that you are working in that unit as a technician/analyst and explain the overall duties of the position. Then, act as if you are working on casework and you receive a piece of evidence that needs to be processed using your expertise. You choose the piece of evidence and describe what can be analyzed. Go through the process taken to analyze the evidence and explain what your results tell you.

Examples: As a DNA analyst, my responsibilities include XXX. An example of a piece of evidence I may receive is a XXX. To analyze the evidence, I will XXX. The data I obtain is XXX and it can tell me this XXX. There is also the possibility that I will use the CODIS database which is XXX.

As a crime scene technician, my duties involve XXX (this is the bulk of the explanation because they do a lot on the crime scene). An example of a crime scene I may respond to is XXX, where the types of evidence I may find include XXX. The evidence I collect can be further processed for XXX.
