Your task is to examine that relational data model, then pick oneYour task is to examine that relational data model, then pick one query you would like to optimize, and design a data warehouse table that optimizes for that specific query. Some examples of queries include:

  • Which candidates have a PhD in Computer Science?
  • Which candidates have > 10 years of experience working professionally?
  • Which candidates had a gap of greater than a year in their experience?

Think of a query other than the ones listed above, and design a table that optimizes for that query.

Your submission should contain the following:

  • An explanation of your use case
  • A "create table" statement for your denormalized table
    • Keep in mind that purpose built tables are often very small!
  • An ETL statement that extracts data from the database you created in last week's exercise into this week's table
    • You should exclude records that have not been "finalized"
    • If your database in last week's assignment did not include a finalization concept, just pretend there's a boolean flag on each record
  • There's no need to write exactly valid SQL
    • I would like to see field names and data type
