Youre the Manager Project #2: Access Control You are the IT Director for Callahan Auto, a medium-sized automotive parts manufacturer that employs approximately 200 people. Annual revenue is approximately $29 million dollars with their largest customers being regional auto supply retail stores. Callahan Auto operates two shifts, 7am-3pm and 3pm-11pm, five days per week. Manufacturing and shipping activities take place during both shifts. Office support activities such as HR, accounting, finance, IT, etc. are generally staffed only during the 7am-3pm shift. Physical access control (both interior and exterior) was traditionally administered by the Maintenance Department who installed locks, issued door keys, etc. Callahan Auto also contracts with a local security company that provides a security guard on-site 24 hours per day. During shift change, the security guard is stationed at the employee entrance to verify that everyone entering has a Callahan Auto identification badge and their face matches the badge photo. The security guard will also inspect large employee backpacks/purses to ensure that merchandise is not being stolen from the company. Employees clock-in and clock-out using digital timeclocks that read unique RFID chips embedded within each employees identification badge. The digital timeclocks are located adjacent to the employee entrance. The timeclock system is administered by the Human Resources / Payroll Department. At all times o
