Create a model that writes 1,000 records to a f le. Each record will include the record number and ten random samples, each between 0 and 100,000. In Run > Setup > Reports , disable the normal model output by selecting SIMAN Summary Report as the default output and select Disable generation of report database . Enable Run > Run Control > Batch Run (No Animation) so that we can execute as fast as possible. Repeat this experiment using a text f le, a binary f le, an Excel f le, an Access f le, an XML f le, and no f le (just generate and discard the random samples). Compare the execution time and the f le sizes for each trial. If you have a fast machine, repeat with 10,000 and 100,000 records.
