Consider a 100-MW Rankine-cycle steam power plant. The boiler pressure is 600 psia and the condenser pressure is 1 psia. Plot the first-law thermal efficiency and the mass flow rate (lb_m/hr) as functions of the turbine inlet temperature (up to 1200 F). Perform all calculations without the aid of EES or a spreadsheet on a computer. The NIST online database, however, may be useful to obtain any required thermodynamic properties.
