A clear compelling vision is very useful to guide change in a ministry or other organization. Before people will support change, they need to have a better vision of the future that is attractive enough to justify the sacrifices and hardships the change will require. During the hectic and confusing process of implementing major change, a clear vision helps guide and coordinate the decisions and actions of people working towards varied goals and in dispersed locations.
Involve key stakeholders
Identify strategic objectives with wide appeal
Identify relevant elements in the old ideology
Link the vision to core competencies
Evaluate the credibility of the vision
Continually assess and refine the vision
