Question
How do I file a dispute, when a student fails to release a milestone payment despite the delivery of work?
Answer
When a student fails to release a milestone payment despite the delivery of work. A dispute regarding work-based contradictions can be initiated against the student after hiring by following the outlined steps.
- Log in to your account and click on your profile picture.
- Select Dispute from the drop-down menu.
- To check the status of an existing dispute, click View Dispute. For a new dispute, click New Dispute.
- Choose the relevant project and student from the provided options.
- Select the refund type (full or partial) and explain the reason for the dispute.
- Attach any supporting files or student comments
After initiating the dispute, it will progress to the final step, which involves a two-day negotiation period. During this time, both you and the student will have the opportunity to collaborate and find a resolution.
Please remember the following:
- You can initiate the invoice anytime after being hired, but payment will only be released after 10 days of last communication with the student. If the student sends a message, the countdown will reset.
- In case of a valid student dispute, deductions are made from the tutor's earnings, including $5 or 15% of the service fee (whichever is greater), along with refund fees and bonuses.
- If the inquiry is closed in favor of the tutor, the proposal amount will be transferred to him/her.
