I stumbled on this textbook searching for something affordable to help me figure out stats for a research methods class, and I scored it at a discount which was a nice bonus. When I hit Chapter 5 on Sampling and Surveys, I realized it cleared up a lot because before, surveys and all those sampling methods were just a jungle to me. That chapter breaks the whole confusing process into small bites, and walking through the examples made those theories stick in my mind instead of swirling around all vague like before. One little aha moment was understanding how probability sampling isn’t just theory but actually something super useful - like during my summer internship I had to prep a small community survey and straight used what I'd read, not guessing anymore but applying techniques from the book directly. It’s pretty chill reading, though I would've liked more up-to-date examples related to current tech since some parts feel slightly old school, but the basics are really well-thrown down. Great for those getting started with stats but don’t expect deep dives on more complex stats stuff. For anyone struggling with the sample selection fuss or needing a budget-friendly guide, this pick is worth thinking about.

Saw this book on sale and thought I'd grab it for my course MATH 201: Introduction to Statistics; it came in less than 3 days which was nice and the packaging was solid so no issues there. Haven't had a chance to go super deep into it yet but the pages feel sturdy and the layout looks pretty user-friendly at a glance. I read a bit and it seems straightforward enough, nothing mind-blowing but good for people new to stats who need something budget-friendly. Hoping it actually makes the math less confusing as I move through homework but for now, it's a good tool with no fuss.

Needed a book for my Associate of Science in Statistics program and found this one on discount which was a bonus. The book came pretty quick, like two days, and the pages feel nice and sturdy so it should hold up okay. I haven’t really dug into the chapters deep yet cause of schoolwork stacking up but flipped through the intro and it seems easy to read, which helps since stats can be a headache sometimes. Hope it makes studying less of a drag and more straightforward. So far, no complaints and good quality for what I paid.

This edition does a fantastic job at blending theoretical discussions with practical examples. As a graduate student, I found it beneficial, especially with how the concepts were broken down. My only minor gripe is that a few exercises could've been more challenging. Still, I got an extra discount with my membership, so that was a bonus. A worthy addition to any learner's library.
